Who are the brands behind this RFP?
Emery & Partners is conducting this RFP on behalf of a valued client, partnering with some of the most renowned sports clubs from the Erste Bundesliga, Premier League, and Formula 1. While specific names cannot be revealed at this stage, participants will be working with leading brands in the sports industry, providing an exciting and prestigious opportunity.
What is the geographical reach of the project?
The project has a broad geographical reach, initially focusing on the EEA, particularly Germany, Italy, Spain, and Greece. Providers are expected to demonstrate flexibility in expanding within the EEA to meet our client's needs. Additionally, there are exciting prospects for future growth in major global markets, including the UK, US, Australia, China, and Brazil.
When will mutual NDAs be signed?
Mutual NDAs will be signed with providers who advance to the next round of deeper discussions. To encourage broad participation in this initial round, we have kept the process as accessible as possible. We look forward to collaborating more closely with providers who progress, ensuring a productive partnership.
Are the projected volumes existing card programs you wish to migrate to a new issuer?
No. These are entirely new fan engagement programs that our client is launching in collaboration with renowned sports clubs from the Erste Bundesliga, Premier League, and Formula 1. The goal is to monetize fan loyalty where payment cards will be one essential feature of the engagement strategy.
Are you looking for an issuer (BIN sponsor) and processor, or just one or the other?
Ideally, we are looking for a provider that can offer both issuer and processing services, as this would greatly simplify coordination and enhance efficiency. In this RFP, our primary focus is on European E-Money Institutes for card issuing. However, if you are also a processor, have an established processing partner, or collaborate with a preferred processor, we welcome those options. We value partners who can offer a comprehensive solution to help make this project as seamless as possible.
Are you an EMI, or are you looking for a provider who can onboard their customers and safeguard their funds?
Neither Emery & Partners nor our client is an EMI. We are seeking a partner who can expertly handle the regulatory requirements, including customer onboarding and safeguarding funds, ensuring a seamless and compliant process for our clients. Regarding customer onboarding, we expect a seamless customer experience, which means that handing over customers during the onboarding process is something we would need to assess together. We might prefer to handle the customer onboarding (KYC) process for our partner through APIs to ensure the best experience for our customers.
Are you looking for physical cards and tokenised cards?
Yes, we are looking for both physical and tokenized cards to provide flexibility and meet a wide range of customer preferences.
Could you please provide us more details on these questions 36, 37, 38, 43, 59, and 71?
Questions 36-38: Do you offer cash management services for managing customer balances? Can you connect additional banks for cash management? Do you establish trust accounts to secure customer funds? These questions refer to how the funds of the cardholders are secured, and whether you are open to shifting the cash management of the funds to the sponsoring bank of the sports club. Question 43: Do you offer cloud-based solutions for flexibility and global reach? This question refers to system stability and whether your solution is on-premise or cloud-based, specifically in terms of scalability and handling sudden peaks in usage. Question 59: Do you facilitate data exchange with CRM systems via API? This question refers to your ability to provide customer data on payment behavior through APIs, which could be used by our CRM system to run targeted campaigns, for instance. Question 71: Are you open to collaborating with additional service providers (e.g., CRM, ERP systems)? This question refers to your general willingness to integrate with or supply data to CRM, ERP, and other systems so that this data can be used for purposes such as running marketing campaigns, analyzing customer behavior, setting behavioral triggers, and measuring results.
Who will be the end users of the cards? Is it retail users or business users?
End users are retail users, i.e. private persons.
